It has been five years since a Harry Potter movie graced the big screens. This November, we’re invited to go back to the Wizarding World. But this time, it isn’t 1990s Europe. We’re going back further in time to New York City in the roaring 20s. The new teaser trailer for Warner Brothers Pictures’ Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them made its world debut at the 2016 MTV Movie Awards on Sunday, April 10th and most of the fandom is freaking out about it.

Inspired by the Hogwarts textbook written by J.K. Rowling from Newt Scamander’s perspective, Fantastic Beasts stars Academy Award winning actor Eddie Redmayne (who was on hand at the MTV Movie Awards to introduce the clip) as our principal lead and famed magizoologist, Newt Scamander. This will be Rowling’s first solo screenplay attempt and based on everything we have seen so far, it looks like we’re in for quite the journey. The Wizarding World can’t take a break can it?

A high-fantasy and heavily period based film, Fantastic Beasts will also be our first look into the American Wizarding World (for more information, please visit www.pottermore.com). Things are a bit different across the pond and we can’t wait to see what this project has in store for us.

Are you excited about this movie just as much as we are? What are you looking forward to seeing? Feel free to leave your thoughts and comments below. You don’t have to be familiar with the trio-era books to watch this movie, but if you haven’t dived into this world before, it’ll definitely help you get ready for it. Don’t forget to save the date for November 18, 2016 (US Release)!
