Hello to you Gatherers this fine month of September!  It seems to have cooled down just a little bit, and in addition to the cool down this month there are bound to be plenty of new titles to scope out whether from the comfort of your own home or from the convenience of your local comic store!  So lets get over the simple jibber-jabber and get straight to the picks of the week!

The first pick goes to the Art of Lola Xoxo #1, featuring the artwork of artist Siya Oum.  This is just simply a must to those who have enjoyed this book and the wonderful artwork that Oum has made in bringing the titular character to life.  Whether looking to the intricacies of rough sketches or finished pieces and landscapes, this book has it all to satisfy your needs with regard to the world of Lola Xoxo.  Available from http://aspencomics.com/.

The next pick goes to Skybourne #1, written and drawn by Frank Cho.  Now, this particular work speaks to me in that it combines essential elements of two of my favorite British fictional characters, James Bond and Arthur.  Of course with the idea that Merlin is the evil villain it only makes this story all the more intriguing in a way that only Frank Cho can accomplish! Available from http://www.boom-studios.com/.

* A new, original series from celebrated creator Frank Cho (Totally Awesome Hulk, Savage Wolverine)! * Full of fast-paced action, Skybourne is James Bond with fantasy elements thrown in and is unlike anything Frank Cho has ever done before. * The legend of King Arthur is alive and well in modern day. Only one man, Skybourne, can stop the evil Merlin from destroying the world.”
