Hello to all you merry Gatherers and Grand Geeks. I hope all had a wonderful weekend. I certainly did having finally gone to my first ever Comic Con Revolution based in Ontario, California! Such a wonderful show and highly recommended to the audience who still loves a good traditional comic con where the emphasis is still upon comics and artist alley.  Alas, I won’t reveal too much of my trip here because that will be the subject of another article coming to you soon!  Let’s see what good indie stuff I’ll recommend for you this week!

Pellucidar: At the Earth’s Core #1
Writer(s): Mike Wolfer
Artist(s): Clint Hilinski
Cover Artist(s): Clint Hilinski, Rich Bonk
Publisher: American Mythology Productions

Synopsis: “It is a world of eternal daylight, where prehistoric beasts terrorize the land and primitive tribes fight for survival in an incredible landscape of lush beauty and vicious brutality. This is Pellucidar, the world at the Earth’s core, one of the most fascinating and beloved creations of science fiction author Edgar Rice Burroughs! Ruled by the telepathic and blood-thirsty Mahars, all of Pellucidar lives in fear of the pterosaurian terrors, but the flesh-eating monsters might have met their match in Dian the Beautiful, whose indomitable will could lead all of Pellucidar to rise up in revolt of their savage oppressors!

PREVIEWSworld

Anyone familiar with Edgar Rice Burroughs must acknowledge the fact that his very creations led to the evolution of modern science fiction as we know it. The world of Pellucidar is certainly no less significant than any of his other works. And in comics form its an even more powerful representation of the savage world that lies at the center of Earth!

PREVIEWSworld

Suddenly, the score of Henry Mancini and Joe Reisman comes into play as I write this. For fifty-five years there has been quite an amazing feline that has touched our minds and hearts more than any other. How very fitting that an anniversary special of that cool cat is made.  Personally for me, I see this issue, especially the retro limited cover, as something CGC worthy to be preserved for all time. Pink is cool, pink is in, and pink is the way to go, Gatherers!

Wow guys and gals it seems that American Mythology Productions has it all and more for your indie reading needs this week! One pretty cool and timeless pink cat’s antics along with a classic tale from Edgar Rice Burroughs!  These are the gems that await you at the mere touch of a keyboard or your tablet or phone screens.  But of course you have far better character than that and will no doubt show your support for your local comic stores by going to them to get the hard copy issues themselves.  And no doubt you will read them and share with your friends so you get some conversations started.  But along the way be sure to leave a comment or two. And remember Gatherers…GGG!
