Hello one and all, faithful and loving Gatherers!  I hope all is well with you as it certainly is with me!  I’ve been able to catch up on more books as of late and with the con season in full swing now with the advent of the coming Spring, I hope to accomplish a whole lot more.  Bored yet at my initial commentary?  Yeah I thought so too. After all, you come for the Picks and not for my weekly rant.  So lets get to it!

Now this first pick is, well, it’s quite simply the sum total of everything I enjoyed as a kid with regard to mystery novels.  I mean who wouldn’t enjoy a good story involving two of literature’s greatest young detectives on the hunt to try and clear their name of murder charges?  If what you seek is a modern day rendition of such classics brought into the twenty-first century, then look no further!

STL037356Title: Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys: The Big Lie #1

This second pick I submit to you because I’ve always been a fan of annual editions of comic series.  Sure, many argue that they seem to do no more than review key moments in an issue’s history over the year but I’ve often found that some of the most profound tales can be found in such issues.  Besides, it’s Transformers.  Who’s going to say no to that?
