We come to the end of January, dear Gatherers and Grand Geeks! In my neck of the woods an unfortunate heatwave has suddenly erupted over the land and thus it has become quite a bothersome affair during the light vacation I have acquired. Nevertheless it does afford me plenty of opportunities to go outside under the shade of a tree to enjoy some sweet indie comic goodies. But enough about me and my boring life. Lets see what I’ll suggest to you this week!

Fifteen years of Aspen Comics now. Amazing. It seems like only yesterday… I remember the forming of this publisher in the early 2000s and even then I was seeing great things come out of it. But that’s also because I was, then and continue to be, a fan of the publisher’s most iconic and titular character. So naturally, if you’re a fan of anything Aspen has done in the last fifteen years then this story is for you. It is as much a celebration of all that Aspen has done, as it is what they continue to accomplish now and in the future. Here’s to fifteen more years and beyond, dudes!

You gotta be impressed by the ones who end up with great abilities from such seemingly inconsequential items. Lagoola Gardner apparently has the powers of Ghostbusters, RIPD, the Men in Black, and Constantine all at once when she possesses these items and, like them, uses them for the purposes of investigation of odd things. But just what sort of oddities does she find and does she end up saving the day with these newfound assets? Read on my friends, read on!

What a diverging range of topics in the indie world this week. Celebratory issues of publisher’s greatness combined with stories of investigations into the macabre. These stories and more are what I submit to you for suggestions to finish out the month of January, people. But the party’s just beginning with regard to indie comics in 2018, so stick around for more. In the meantime, enjoy these fine gems that are available at the mere click of a button on your computer, tablet or phone. But as I always suggest, go that next step! Go down to your local comic store and show your support for their business by buying the issues themselves. Read them and share with your friends. Start up a conversation and be sure to leave a comment or two. But most importantly, Gatherers, remember…GGG!
