Happy December, Gatherers!  Oh what an exciting month we are in.  The upcoming festivities.  The fun to be had! Wait, you think I’m talking about Christmas?!  Well, okay I guess we are in the month for the holiday season now but with all due respect my loving Gatherers, I was talking about new comics day!  It rolls around every Wednesday.  So, in a way, its like we get to celebrate this all year round with each week.  But then again is it really a holiday then if we celebrate it so often?  Alright, I’ll stop being so pensive and philosophical here. Lets bring you the picks!

My first pick goes to Reggie and Me #1, written by Tom DeFalco and drawn by Sandy Jarrell.  What better way to honor the legacy of Riverdale than by having an ongoing of its most beloved character?  Wait, no that’s not right but…well I guess Reggie Mantle would think so!  Enjoy this new series as Reggie and his dog Vader get into some interesting shenanigans both in and outside of school grounds!  Available from http://archiecomics.com/.

“There is no one more loved, revered, admired and adored in Riverdale than…  Reggie Mantle? Well, at least Reggie doesn’t think there’s anyone as loved and admired as himself. And his best friend can back that idea up—his best friend, of course, being his dog, Vader. The unstoppable duo is known around town for pulling the funniest pranks, getting the hottest dates and throwing the best parties. And if anyone even dares to compete with them, there is going to be hell to pay. Come take a look at the life of your hero, the handsome, hilarious Reggie Mantle.”

Available in digital format from http://archiecomics.com/ and https://www.comixology.com/ and in print from your LCS!

My second pick goes to Uber Invasion #1, written by Kieron Gillen and drawn by Daniel Gete. A new on-going to one of Avatar Press’s most popular titles, Gillen’s new work envisions a Third Reich that now has the technological means to bring war to the strongest member of the Allies, America itself!  Having overrun all of Europe, Germany now sets its sights upon the land of the free and the home of the brave with its supersoldiers ready to do its bidding.  But America has an experimental supersoldier program of its own.  Just how does it all turn out??  Available from http://www.avatarpress.com/.

Kieron Gillen’s reimagining of superpowers and history is back with America under attack! In the waning days of World War II, the Germans discovered a way to enhance soldiers into unstoppable monsters. With these weapons Hitler conquered all of Europe and now has set his sights on the United States. This is Uber: Invasion! The German battleships are on American soil and with the allies struggling to make up lost ground in Enhanced Soldier development; the young country is facing the possibility of annihilation! Available with Regular, Wraparound, War Crimes, and Blitzkrieg covers by series artist Daniel Gete, a painted Propaganda Poster cover, and a limited VIP Premium cover by Gabriel Andrade that is limited to 500 copies!”
