Hello to all you fine independent comic readers out there, Gatherer or not.  Regardless of whether you are a casual or hardcore reader, we are currently living in both a golden as well as an arguably chaotic age for independent comics.  So many creators are out there now.  A virtual plethora of publishers and artists and writers willing to put out content that is owned by them and are not at the behest of overarching editors.  We are living in great times people.  A time of indie comics and those who appreciate them.  Just what is out there this week that could satisfy your cravings and needs?  Read on!

Let’s be honest.  There is always going to be that part of us that still feels comics should be what they were intended to be at their heart to begin with, fun books with great stories.  As kids we were enamored of that notion, and it is books like this that reinforce that timeless renaissance of getting back to the basics with comic books.  So sit back and enjoy this simple tale of animals banding together to stop the machinations of an untold monster lurking about. Oh yeah and you can totally color in this book as well!

Who out there loves a good Western with a bit of a twist?  Well Dark Horse sure managed to create such a character in a world to satisfy those two cravings!  Welcome back our favorite monk who serves out in the Wild West with a new adventure set down by his creators.  Of course, one thought that all was well in his world but nope, his nemeses are back and are out for vengeance.  Not surprising, but one has to wonder just what kinda rough road ahead our favorite David Carradine parody will pave in this new tale for readers?

What a fun selection I give to you this week, Gatherers!  Pets banding together to fight the forces of evil and monks of the Far East making their presence known in the Wild West.  I have appealed to both the adult and the kid in all of us readers by picking these for you.  But these two are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to all the available indie comics you can find.  Search them out and read to your heart’s content from the convenience of your own computer or tablet. But I would also implore you to support your local comic shop and get these volumes for yourself.  Read them and share them with your friends.  Start up a conversation and leave a comment or two.  But more importantly, remember…GGG!
