Happy Autumnal Equinox to all you adoring Gatherers and Grand Geeks galore! I hope everyone enjoyed the summer but alas, seasons come and seasons go. Now its time to put the bathing suits away and put on the turtlenecks. To replace iced frappe with pumpkin spice latte. And if you truly believe that I also have some oceanfront property in the southwest to sell you as well! True, we are in autumn now but, there’s still plenty of heat left. So before you go all gung-ho and start bundling up, let’s see what looks good this week in the indie comics world!
The S Factor #1
Writer(s): Samuel George London
Artist(s): Chris Panda
Cover Artist(s): Chris Panda
Publisher: Action Lab – Danger Zone
Synopsis: “An under-appreciated-sidekick named called Greyfox decides to “re-brand” himself through a new dating reality TV show for super-heroes called The S Factor, where 12 female contestants fight for his affection. Meanwhile, his former superior, Darkfox, is bewildered as to why he would put himself in such a vulnerable position.”
–PREVIEWSworld
Its definitely not unheard of for sidekicks to feel utterly unappreciated by their superiors. It is, however quite, unusual for one to get a restart by rebranding his image on a dating reality television program. One cannot help but wonder just how superbly nonsensical the ride will be in this new series!

The Citizen #1
Writer(s): Charlie McFarland
Artist(s): Aleksandar Jovic
Cover Artist(s): Aleksandar Jovic
Publisher: Action Lab – Entertainment
Synopsis: “A journalist tries to cope with being the only non-super human in a city full of costumed heroes and villains.”
–PREVIEWSworld
That has got to be one of the worst feelings ever, from a personal standpoint mind you. To be the only being in a city that doesn’t actually possess great superhuman abilities. Then again, perhaps it is the perfect thing to be…for in a reality where everyone seems to be superhuman, just how “super” can it really get? Anyway, we have ourselves a journalist in said city that is dealing on a day-by-day basis with this very state of things of being the only ‘normie’ in an urban area inundated with “supers.” Just how he will cope, who can say?!
Available digitally at https://actionlabcomics.com/ and https://www.comixology.com/. Hardcopy available at your LCS!
And there we have it for the beginning of autumn, folks! Action Lab knocks it out of the park with two wonderful tales spanning stories of “normie” reporters stuck in cities of superhumans combined with dejected sidekicks seeking most unconventional ways to rebrand themselves into relevancy. These gems and so many more await you at the mere click of a button on your keyboards or at the touch of a screen on your phones and/or tablets. But since many of you love supporting local businesses, it almost goes without saying that I encourage you all to head down to your local comic stores this Wednesday to pick up the hardcopy issues themselves. Read them and share with your friends. Start a conversation and be sure to leave a comment or two. But most importantly, remember…GGG!
