Howdy Gatherers and Grand Geeks aplenty! I hope everyone’s Halloween celebrations were fun even if the options for celebrating were slim indeed. Alas, it is now the beginning of the holiday season. Two entire months of abject horror and insanity as we finish off the year. While I dread to think on the days ahead, I like to comfort myself with some butter cookie roast coffee and a good indie book. So how about we look into what looks good in the indie reading world?!

Cold Dead Hands #1 (of 3)
Writer(s): Garrett Gunn
Artist(s): Lee Milewski
Cover Artist(s): Brian Balondo
Publisher: Source Point Press
Synopsis: “Aspiring mercenary, Kit Kelso, comes wrist to wrist with the deadliest hands in history.”
Well, how about this? We finally get to see a figure of speech get its day on the comic’s page! It seems that we have an up and coming soldier-for-hire by the name of Kit Kelso who is ready to go out into the world and do that which is necessary to turn a buck. Only problem is that it seems that an adversary that he must face off against has perhaps the most deadly touch one could imagine. And in the scope of a three-issue miniseries one can only wonder how well this will actually pan out for this aspiring mercenary. After all, hand-to-hand melee attacks are out of the question if this enemy has such a deadly touch. Better break out the firearms, Kelso, because it looks like you’re gonna need it! And then one has to wonder if he’ll even be the same after this encounter!
And there we have it for the week, folks! Oldies but goodies brought back with new tantalizing stories for 2020 combined with mercenaries facing off against deadly touch assassins. These gems and so many others await you at the mere click of a button on your keyboards or at the touch of a screen on your tablets and/or phones. But please show some love to your local businesses by heading to your local comic shops this Wednesday to pick up the hardcopy issues themselves. Many of them offer curbside pickup. Enjoy these stories and share with your friends. Start a conversation and be sure to leave a comment or two. But most importantly, remember…GGG!
