Howdy, Gatherers and Grand Geeks! Heat has overcome the kingdom of Southern California, and as I write this I’m currently baking under a warm sun. Not that I’m complaining, mind you! With summer around the corner it gives me hope that the cold temperatures have finally retreated to the shadows from whence they came. On top of that, its getting lighter earlier, allowing me far more hours in the day to delve into my fandoms to my heart’s content. And I shall do just that! But before I do so, let’s see what looks good this week in the indie comics world!

Good Boy #1 (Director’s Cut)
Writer(s): Christina Blanch, Garrett Gunn
Artist(s): Kit Wallis
Cover Artist(s): Nick Bradshaw
Publisher: Source Point Press

Synopsis: “Can’t get enough of Good Boy? Then here’s a treat! This director’s cut showcases Kit Wallis’ gorgeous black and white art…”

PREVIEWSworld

In a world where canines and humans are equals, one can always count on the former being loyal to the end. Flint Sparks is a mercenary who is avenging his human partner, Jon. Of course, with the culprit behind the murder being an industry “where the job is supposed to be forever”, one can only deduce that Flint has declared war on a criminal underground. Its almost like this story is a role reversal of John Wick. And these unsavory underworld souls are going to rue the day they took down Flint’s partner!

My Brother Teddy #1 (one-shot)

Synopsis: “Remember when you were a kid lost in your imagination with your toys scattered across the floor? You with your favorite toy; maybe it was a cowboy, an action figure, a doll or a teddy bear. It doesn’t matter which one you had because we’ve all felt that unbreakable bond that a kid has with their favorite toy. But what if that bond was tested? What if the bond was so strong, the toy took on a life of its own to leap into hell with the hope of returning you home?

PREVIEWSworld

Everyone had their special toy growing up as a child. But can anyone truly say their special toy came to life in order to save their owner from the very gates of hell?! Such a bond we see in the pages of this one-shot. Read on friends, read on!

And there we have it for the week, folks! Tales of loyalty abound in these particular indie books, whether it be from a childhood toy or a canine companion. These tales and so many more await you at the mere click of a button on your keyboards or at the touch of a screen on your tablets and/or phones. But since many of you love supporting local business, I will encourage you to head down to your local comic shops this Wednesday to pick up the hard copy issues themselves. Read them and share with your friends. Start a conversation and be sure to leave a comment or two. But most importantly, remember…GGG!
