Howdy to all you indie readers, young and old! I hope everyone’s well in our waning days of the winter season. It’s still cold as hell and I look forward to the promise of warm renewal in the upcoming days of spring. Even the rain! Soon I’ll be able to head outside again and enjoy books under the shade of a tree…but until then let’s see what looks good this week in the indie reading world!

Invader Zim Quarterly: Zim’s Greatest Plan #1
Writer(s): Sam Logan
Artist(s): Fred Stresing
Cover Artist(s): Fred Stresing, Cab
Publisher: Oni Press

Synopsis: “ZIM hasn’t come up with a new scheme in weeks – not because he’s out of ideas, but because of the constant distractions. (Dib’s endless hounding! Gir’s endless nonsense! Minimoose’s deeply, deeply judgmental stares!) Because everyone else is the problem, ZIM inserts himself in a sensory deprivation tank…”

PREVIEWSworld

It’s definitely hard being a diabolic planner of plans so to speak. Zim is no exception. So to get away from his difficulties and come up with the ‘ultimate plan’ so to speak, he puts himself in an SPT to ward off distractions…only to emerge from it weeks later to find a world completely subjugated to another alien being! Uh, copycat much?!

PREVIEWSworld

You have to love the unbeatable combo of horror mixed with classical Western mythos. Find the two in perfect union in this first issue of a five issue miniseries where the setting is upon a town overrun by an outlaw band but is soon to find even worse when a couple of dark-clothed strangers make their appearance.

And there we have it for the week, Grand Geeks and Gatherers! Diabolical planners finding their plans come to ruin combined with horror meets classical westerns! These tales and more await you at the mere click of a button on your keyboards or at the touch of a screen on your tablets and/or phones. But since you’re all very supportive of local business, I’m sure you’ll head down to your comic shop this Wednesday to pick up the hardcopy issues themselves. Read them and share with your friends. Start a conversation and be sure to leave a comment or two. But most importantly, remember…GGG!
