Good morning Gatherers and Grand Geeks! Hopefully everyone’s weekend was a great one as was mine. It was filled with great food and plenty of podcasting to satisfy all your listening desires. Along the way there was enough time to even read a good comic or two before I finally was able to sit down and get this out to you. Alas, I have bored you long enough so let’s see just what wonder indie books are out there to satisfy your indie needs.
Trump’s Titans vs. Dark Donald’s Mental #1
Writer(s): John Barron
Artist(s): Shawn Remulac
Cover Artist(s): Shawn Remulac
Synopsis: “President Donald J. Trump is the most powerful superhero in the universe and the leader of the greatest super team in history – but this very stable genius is about to go mental! Donald’s very good brain becomes, like, too smart. So smart that it rips a hole in the fabric of the universe, creating portal to a dark multiverse that seven “Dark Donalds” enter through! It’ll take the greatest Donald Trump in the multiverse to take down these Donnie Darkos. Good thing he’s on our side! The bestselling Trump comic book parody series of all time returns in an all-new #1, because #5s are for losers! Collect all seven Dark Donalds on the variant covers!”
I kid you not, Gatherers, but it seems that even Trump’s influence becomes a powerful force of nature against a larger multiverse. So, if it’s so potent enough to rip a hole in reality itself to let Donald doppelgangers out to terrorize the universe, just what does that say about his potential as leader and hero? Hard to say really but let’s just see how good the art of parody comes into swing within this series! And variants, people! Plenty to satisfy your art cravings.
Mae Vol. 2 #1
Writer(s): Gene Ha
Artist(s): Gene Ha
Cover Artist(s): Gene Ha
Publisher: Lion Forge
Publisher: “Mae, Abbie and Kvido have nearly escaped death countless times, but that won’t stop them from taking on the Zemetrasi to rescue their father. When they stumble across Petra Stoneheart, an old friend of Abbie’s, Mae starts to learn more about the unfamiliar world she’s followed Abbie through and about the sister she’s been separated from for years.”
And here we have another wonderful odyssey of Mae’s involving her friends Abbie and Kvido involving mystery, intrigue and adventure. Already the story stokes interest with these adversarial Zemestrasi that they must go after, but with the introduction of an old friend of Abbie’s, the story’s dimension grows. Mae clearly is learning more about this strange world she is a part of or more importantly about the sibling she has been separated from. A fantasy story of surprise and suspense that all can enjoy!
There we have it for the week, Gatherers and Grand Geeks. Trump heroes and doppelgangers combined with fantasy stories of intrigue and adventure. These books are among the many indie jewels that await you at the mere click of a button on your tablet, phone or keyboard. But being the good supporters of local business that you are, you will of course go down to your local comic store and buy the hard copies themselves. Read them and share with your friends. Start up a conversation and be sure to leave a comment or two. But most importantly, remember…GGG!
