Howdy Grand Geeks and Gatherers! I hope all is well in your neck of the woods. In my case I still just languish under the inconvenience of COVID-laden lockdowns while trying to enjoy my fandoms. Speaking of which I have plenty of indie reading material to get into. But before I do so, let’s see what looks good this week!

But first she’s got to survive harsh commanders, sexist trainers and bad equipment before she’ll get the chance to face German planes and bullets.”
I’ve always enjoyed comic stories centering around the World Wars, and in this first issue of a five issue miniseries we definitely delve into such a story. Our protagonist if Lilya Litvak, a Polish aviator whom has seen her homeland ravaged by Nazi blitzkrieg. So naturally she proceeds to fly for the Russians so that she do her best to do that which is necessary to take back her homeland. But before she even can start shooting down some Nazis, Lilya first has to deal with some obstacles down that road, whether they be sexism, terrible equipment or even rough superiors. But I have a feeling she’s gonna kick some Nazi butt in no time!

This is a story that seems to be a wonderful mixture of British punk subculture combined with 007 and supernatural kaiju-level threats. Kevin Sauvage is a feral-male born and raised on an uncharted island who must deal with a sudden invasion of England. And just what has come calling? Mutant dinosaurs, of all things! So naturally, one that is savage as he must be the one to hunt down these monsters and save the day. Certainly he should be up for the task, shouldn’t he?!
