Happy August blaze to all you Gatherers and Grand Geeks out there! As I write this I am doing my best not to melt away entirely from this insane heatwave that we have been experiencing as of late. Basking in the air conditioner or dips in the pool only go so far toward being remedies for this misfortune. Reading some good ole indie books helps go a long way to distract you from the sensations. Now while I wouldn’t say indie comics are the best remedy for the heat, let’s just see what might help satiate your reading needs while the heat continues to blast on, shall we?!

So now we are looking at dinosaurs from the other side! No longer the crimefighting superheroes like in our last selection but instead as the carnivorous imperialist space conquerors set on making Earth their new hunting grounds! And all to think that merely the Voyager satellite was just going about its business exiting our Solar System only to alert this dinosaur mother ship to the location of a new place they could call home. Can peaceful coexistence be an option?!

And there we have it for the week, my dear Grand Geeks and Gatherers. It seems dinosaurs have become an important part of the indie scene this week, portraying both superhero adventurers as well as interstellar conquerors. These great books and more are what await you at the mere click of a button on your monitor screens or keyboards. But being the devoted supporters of local businesses you are, you will go down to your local comic store this Wednesday and purchase the hard copies themselves. Read them and share with your friends. Start a conversation and be sure to leave a comment or two. But most importantly, remember…GGG!
