Hello to all you wonderful Grand Geeks and Gatherers out there! I hope you’re able to brave the heat as much as I am. Its sweltering and muggy and honestly it feels altogether miserable. But still, despite all that I firmly love the summer days and wouldn’t trade them for anything in the world. So as far as enjoying the summertime blues like I am, my best suggestion is grab some good indie comics, sit by the pool, and enjoy yourself! Shall we?!
We Don’t Kill Spiders #1 (of 3)
Writer(s): Joseph Schmalke
Artist(s): Joseph Schmalke
Cover Artist(s): Joseph Schmalke
Publisher: Scout Comics – Black Caravan Imprint
Synopsis: “In the early Viking Age, a faithless Norseman detective is summoned to a Scandinavian hamlet where a series of murders have occurred. Discovering the dark and bloody history of the village he investigates the local outcast, a necromantic witch who brings his atheistic values into question…”
A detective story blended into a bit of Viking history. So basically this is “What if Dick Tracy were a Viking” to me, and its immensely intriguing! Seems that this Northlander is called to investigate some grisly murders and finds his very faith being called into question when the one he’s teaming up with can help him find this killer.
