Hello Grand Geeks and Gatherers! As I type this I’m trying my best not to completely freeze. Cold and chill comes to my neck of the woods, and with it the need for warmth and bundling up! I’m doing just that with a nice cup of pumpkin coffee and snickerdoodle cream. But before I continue to enjoy my indulgence, let’s see what looks good this week in the indie comic world!

Synopsis: “When Eric is hit by a mysterious blast of light from space, he suddenly finds his mind filled with designs for strange devices. But when he blindly begins building them, he won’t discover what they do until he and his friends turn them on. But do they dare? In the spirit of The Goonies and Explorers, the adventure begins here from the creators of Haunted and Riptide!”
Unexplained genius can arrive in a myriad of forms! For Eric, it comes in the version of a cosmic blast from the infinite void of space. And it fills that head of his with alien technology the likes of which mankind isn’t ready for. So what better way to deal with this development? Build the tech of course and ask questions later! To hell with consequences!

Publisher: Red 5 Comics – Stonebot
Synopsis: “A gigantic creature has been awaken from its eternal sleep in Antarctica. The destructive monster, only known as “The Salamander,” has started a journey of chaos and destruction. The only thing that could stop this menace is another sleeping giant; a creature from under the ocean known as “Mega.”
This new series is the very epitome of what huge monsters and kaiju are all about! A gigantic beast known simply as the Salamander has been abruptly awoken from its slumber deep under Antarctica. Apparently it is a force of nature that cannot be stopped by (you guessed it!) another gargantuan monstrosity. But if you are thinking of some mutated komodo dragon from the Pacific, think again! This powerhouse is known as Mega, and its ready for some action!
And there we have it for the week, Gatherers and Grand Geeks! Kaiju-inspired tales of destruction and clobbering combined with adolescent epiphanies gained through alien contacts and cosmic rays! Red 5 Comics and its Stonebot imprint really hit it home this week as we inch that much closer to the holiday season. These titles and so many more await you at the mere click of a button on your keyboards or at the touch of a screen on your tablets and/or phones. But since you all consciously support local businesses (at least I trust that you are!), I will encourage you to head down to your comic shop this Wednesday to pick up the hardcopy issues themselves. Read them and share with your friends. Start a conversation and be sure to leave a comment or two. But most importantly, remember…GGG!
