Hello to all you wonderful Grand Geeks and Gatherers out there! Hopefully everyone is continuing to stay safe and follow proper precautions. With that situation not having improved since last time unfortunately the same recommendations for availability still stand regarding your favorite indie titles. Regardless, the world of fandom doesn’t stop for even a pandemic such as this. Let’s see what looks good this week!

Cover Artist(s): Daniel Leister, Jenevieve Broomall, Kristopher Harris, Larry Watts
Publisher: Devil’s Due Publishing
Synopsis: “Launching an all new “Archeopunk” genre! When a discovery turns our understanding of history upside down, we meet a couple who abruptly find themselves swept-up in a deep state conspiracy that threatens their world. Only, the year is 11,000 BCE, and their advanced world was nothing like we have been told. Nor does our couple know the role they will play in the survival of society’s knowledge in the years to come.”
The Archeopunk genre has always been a genre I’ve been fascinated with, so to see it come out in another title such as this is a fresh reminder that ideas are definitely still flowing in this time of social distancing! It seems that a couple is caught up in a strange deep politics conspiracy that happens eleven millennia before the Common Era! Now, who knows whether they will survive this whole ordeal, all that I do know is that they’ve a role to play in society’s knowledge of said events, which sadly nobody knows as history seems to be silent on the subject!
Minions: Sports! #1

Cover Artist(s): Renaud Collin
Publisher: Titan Comics
Synopsis: “Ahead of their next cinematic outing Minions: The Rise of Gru on July 3rd 2020, the Minions are at it again, with even more banana-related mischief in this new series featuring hilarious stories! The Minions are beloved the world over, with 34m Facebook followers, 1.3m Instagram followers, 300k Twitter followers, and over 60,000 comic book sales in the US alone!”
Nothing seems to keep these Minions down! Their next movie is out this summer with Rise of Gru, and in lieu of Summer Olympic competition its only fitting that these cute and lovable things provide us with a viable alternative! Suffice it to say the cover pretty much says it all, with our Minions engaging in sports competition of varying degrees. Just who comes out on top for all this effort, you might ask? Well that simple…the readers of course!
There we have it, Gatherers and Grand geeks aplenty! Minions in the midst of sporting competition combined with an archaic couple trying to evade an old time conspiratorial plot. These tales and much more are available at the mere click of a button on your keyboard or at the touch of a screen on your tablets or phones. Unfortunately the need for social distancing as this pandemic continues forces us to take this alternative, though I would still encourage you to still show support for your local stores by calling them regarding subscriptions and/or purchases, for in these troubled times local businesses need all the support they can get! Read them and share with your friends. Start a conversation and be sure to leave a comment or two. But most of all, remember…stay safe…and GGG!
