IndiComix has chosen IDW’s Onyx as its title for the month of June. In this episode Tyler and Jeff interview IDW Publishing’s Chief Creative Officer and Editor-in-Chief Chris Ryall!  Onyx is a miniseries penned by Ryall with artwork contributed by Gabriel Rodriguez (Locke & Key, NOS4A2).


Onyx tells the tale of a female metal-suited warrior who comes to Earth on a quest to either save the planet or destroy it. It’s up to a team of super-soldiers to figure out which before it’s too late, and before a much greater threat overwhelms both them and the planet itself.

Ryall’s career didn’t begin with comics, he was also hired by none other than Kevin Smith to run the entertainment website (now which was featured in the movie Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. Ryall would come to join IDW Publishing in the summer of 2004 and rose up in the ranks to his prestigious position which to this day he still holds.
